Last updated: June 10, 2026

Our commitment

HandheldDatabase is an independent reference site. We catalogue handheld gaming devices and, to help readers identify them, we display product photography and imagery. Wherever possible we use public-domain or Creative Commons sources and credit them on our image credits page. If despite our efforts material on this site infringes your copyright, we will act promptly to remove it once properly notified.

Designated agent

Send all copyright notices to our designated agent:

DMCA@handhelddatabase.com

Please use a clear subject line such as “DMCA Takedown Notice” so we can route and action your request quickly.

Filing a takedown notice

To submit a valid notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512), your message to DMCA@handhelddatabase.com should include all of the following:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  2. Identification of the material on our site you want removed, with the specific page URL(s) so we can locate it.
  3. Your contact information — name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

What happens next

On receiving a notice that includes the elements above, we will remove or disable access to the material in question and make a reasonable effort to notify whoever provided it. We may also keep a record of the notice for our own compliance purposes.

Counter-notice

If you believe material was removed in error or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to DMCA@handhelddatabase.com. A counter-notice should identify the removed material and its former location, include your contact information and signature, and contain a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
